We have cultivated a team of industry experts to form one of the most experienced (and, dare we say, most attractive and fun) recruiting agencies. Our team is passionate about helping our English Teachers experience an adventure of a lifetime.

They say that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and at Adventure Teaching, this is certainly the case.  What makes us so special? Simple: every member of the Adventure Teaching team has lived and taught overseas. We are uniquely aware and interested in the needs and desires of each teacher because, well, we were all once teachers too!

Reuben Zuidhof

Reuben Zuidhof

Co-Founder / Big Cheese
I’m Reuben. I moved back to Canada after 6 years of teaching and working out of our AT office in Korea (which is quite something considering that my wife and I were only supposed to be there for 1 year!). I taught for 2 years at a hagwon and 1 year at an international school, both of which I loved and will never forget. After my first 2 years in Korea, I co-founded Adventure Teaching in hopes that others would have the opportunity to experience what I did!

Interests: I’m a sucker for just about anything that has to do with food. Especially Korean food. I always love some good, healthy competition (just a warning: I usually win) and all things sports-related. Stop by our office for a dart game sometime! I’ll go easy on you, I promise…

I’m the other Robyn on the Adventure Teaching team. Originally from sunny California, I wound up on the Korean peninsula just over three years ago. It’s been quite the ride! This adventure has helped me grow and has challenged me in unique ways I would never have experienced back home. I’ve been lucky to live in and visit some interesting cities, try new things, and most importantly, connect with truly incredible people.

Interests: Running, ultimate frisbee, traveling, trivia nights, and my pirate cat, Moose.

Placement Coordinator / Business Development
Robyn’s the name, traveling’s the game! I moved abroad in 2006 and have been traveling ever since! The
impact of living, working and experiencing new cultures is infectious, as once you start, it’s hard to stop! Asia holds a special place in my heart as it was the first region I really explored as an expat and I’m so excited that you will also get to experience firsthand this wonderful culture, people and tradition.

Interests: Learning! Languages, countries, people, games, restaurants, books – I want to know it all…and I’m almost there.

Tess Bercan

Tess Bercan

Admissions Director

My name’s Tess, and I’m here to share your excitement of heading abroad! I myself, have lived and taught in South Korea for quite some time. What can I say, I fell in love with Korea almost instantly. I love the fast-paced lifestyle, the endless BBQ dinners, and noraebonging all night long. However, if I had to choose my favorite part of being abroad, hands down it would be my experience with the tight knit expat culture. I met some incredible people from all over the world. There’s something intangibly awesome about an expat, and I’m stoked for you to get to experience this first hand. Whether you choose to go down the adventurous path of China or the ever charming road of South Korea, you can’t go wrong – and I’m here to help you take this awesome leap into the unknown! Get in touch with me at [email protected].

Interests: People, fun, music, travels and adventure!

Admissions

Hey, I’m Milli! I moved to South Korea shortly after graduation in 2014 and have been thriving here since. I initially choose Korea for its popularity and stayed for its vibrant culture. I have made makkoli and kimchi, and have eaten a traditional meal with monks. I have also learned to surf, snowboard, and played on a Gaelic football team with people from all over the world. Now I have a serious travel bug and cannot wait to see what else the world has to offer.

Interests: Relaxing on the beach with a good book, trying new things and visiting new places – bring on the adventure!
