We have cultivated a team of industry experts to form one of the most experienced (and, dare we say, most attractive and fun) recruiting agencies. Our team is passionate about helping our English Teachers experience an adventure of a lifetime.

They say that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and at Adventure Teaching, this is certainly the case.  What makes us so special? Simple: every member of the Adventure Teaching team has lived and taught overseas. We are uniquely aware and interested in the needs and desires of each teacher because, well, we were all once teachers too!

Co-Founder / Big Cheese
I’m Reuben. I moved back to Canada after 6 years of teaching and working out of our AT office in Korea (which is quite something considering that my wife and I were only supposed to be there for 1 year!). I taught for 2 years at a hagwon and 1 year at an international school, both of which I loved and will never forget. After my first 2 years in Korea, I co-founded Adventure Teaching in hopes that others would have the opportunity to experience what I did!

General Manager

Hey, I’m Kelly! At 15 years old I moved to the UK with my family for two years. That early move planted a seed of exploration and curiosity in my life that is still present today. The curiosity and courage to explore mixed with my own love of learning took me back to the UK to study for my Master’s, it helped me learn about the culture and customs in Kenya, it led me to teach English in Guatemala, it brought me to the foothills of Scotland, to the back country farms of Myanmar and to the city centers of Seoul and New York. Adventuring has taught me to be a better learner and has helped me articulate my love of education! I highly recommend setting out with purpose, even if it is up the local north shore mountains of Vancouver.

Placement Coordinator

Hi, I am Jessica! I am a certified teacher who moved to beautiful Australia in 2012 to explore teaching and living abroad. It is the best decision I ever made! I travelled all over Australia and New Zealand and taught in the big city as well as rural communities. Teaching abroad holds a very special place in my heart as I learned how resilient and adventurous I was. Another fun fact about me is I play in a band! I hope to play music all over the world some day and inspire people to take a leap and move abroad.

Hi, my name is Justin! As I vowed to myself that I would never live abroad, I soon after ended up living in a small town in Jamaica for a short time, teaching, learning and offering support to an orphanage. I would say my experience there was transformative, but that would be an understatement. What little I was able to offer those I met was greatly outweighed by all they freely gave me. There is just something redefining about living abroad, and experiencing new people and cultures. It stretches you, but at the same time builds and fortifies you in a unique and humbling way. You should try it… if you haven’t already!
