We have cultivated a team of industry experts to form one of the most experienced (and, dare we say, most attractive and fun) recruiting agencies. Our team is passionate about helping our English Teachers experience an adventure of a lifetime.

They say that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and at Adventure Teaching, this is certainly the case.  What makes us so special? Simple: every member of the Adventure Teaching team has lived and taught overseas. We are uniquely aware and interested in the needs and desires of each teacher because, well, we were all once teachers too!

Reuben Zuidhof

Reuben Zuidhof

Co-Founder // Big Cheese
I’m Reuben. I moved back to Canada after 6 years of teaching and working out of our AT office in Korea (which is quite something considering that my wife and I were only supposed to be there for 1 year!). I taught for 2 years at a hagwon and 1 year at an international school, both of which I loved and will never forget. After my first 2 years in Korea, I co-founded Adventure Teaching in hopes that others would have the opportunity to experience what I did!

Interests: I’m a sucker for just about anything that has to do with food. Especially Korean food. I always love some good, healthy competition (just a warning: I usually win) and all things sports-related. Stop by our office for a dart game sometime! I’ll go easy on you, I promise…

Dok Hoon Ryu

Asian Office Manager // Flight + Arrival Expert
My name is Dok-Hoon, but you can call me DH. I work out of our AT Korea office, offering the best service I can to both our teachers and our schools. I’ve lived and worked in North America, so my English is rockin’ (because I know you were wondering, “Am I going to be able to understand that guy?!”). I’ve been helping our teachers get to Asia for a long time, and I look forward to helping you get over here, too! If you have any questions about living or working in Asia, feel free to get in touch with me.

Interests: Live music, a good haircut, and PING PONG – bring it on!

Mindy Sorenson

Mindy Sorenson

Director of Admissions // Placement Expert
My name is Mindy. I first traveled with AT to Asia in 2009 – yep, AT was my recruiter too! I never could’ve imagined how working abroad would impact and change me. I love telling stories about my year in South Korea – hopefully these stories will further reiterate that this is something YOU have to do! I still catch myself at times, shaking my head, “That was so Korean of you, Mindy!”… I love this! After you spend time in one of Asia’s amazing countries, you’ll realize that Asia has become a part of you, too.

Interests: I am my most true self on trains, I’m fascinated by bridges, and I adore children. I love reading, writing, and hearing stories – stories about traveling, growing, exploring, and sitting still. I also like tomato soup and coffee. Not together.

Justin Woodside

Justin Woodside

Visa Process Expert
Justin here! I’m an energetic, adventure-loving enthusiast. I recently moved back to Colorado after teaching in Korea for two and a half years. My wife and I had the privilege of working with an incredible team at a smaller hagwon, and it was an experience that far exceeded all my expectations. My heart has a deep echo for the people of East Asia that I can’t help but share with the world.

Interests: I want to play every instrument I can get my hands on. Mandolin, piano, and ukulele are a few of my favorites right now. I have a soft spot for fresh, warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies. I can’t get enough of the Rocky Mountains – not even joking, they’re basically in my backyard. And last but not least – slurpees. What would the world do without slurpees?!?!! I shudder at the thought.
