We have cultivated a team of industry experts to form one of the most experienced (and, dare we say, most attractive and fun) recruiting agencies. Our team is passionate about helping our English Teachers experience an adventure of a lifetime.

They say that ‘teamwork makes the dream work’ and at Adventure Teaching, this is certainly the case.  What makes us so special? Simple: every member of the Adventure Teaching team has lived and taught overseas. We are uniquely aware and interested in the needs and desires of each teacher because, well, we were all once teachers too!

Reuben Zuidhof

Reuben Zuidhof

Co-Founder / Big Cheese
I’m Reuben. I moved back to Canada after 6 years of teaching and working out of our AT office in Korea (which is quite something considering that my wife and I were only supposed to be there for 1 year!). I taught for 2 years at a hagwon and 1 year at an international school, both of which I loved and will never forget. After my first 2 years in Korea, I co-founded Adventure Teaching in hopes that others would have the opportunity to experience what I did!

Interests: I’m a sucker for just about anything that has to do with food. Especially Korean food. I always love some good, healthy competition (just a warning: I usually win) and all things sports-related. Stop by our office for a dart game sometime! I’ll go easy on you, I promise…

Asian Office Manager / Flight + Arrival Expert
My name is Dok-Hoon, but you can call me DH. I work out of our AT Korea office, offering the best service I can to both our teachers and our schools. I’ve lived and worked in North America, so my English is rockin’ (because I know you were wondering, “Am I going to be able to understand that guy?!”). I’ve been helping our teachers get to Asia for a long time, and I look forward to helping you get over here, too! If you have any questions about living or working in Asia, feel free to get in touch with me.

Interests: Live music, a good haircut, and PING PONG – bring it on!

Michelle Krenzler

Michelle Krenzler

Admissions Director / Visa Expert
My Name is Michelle. I married my high school sweetheart back in 2008 and we both caught the travel bug a year later. We decided Europe was where we wanted to go first. Although it was amazing and unforgettable, we ran out of money and had to return home. We were struggling with what to do when we came across Adventure Teaching! Yep, AT was our recruiter, too! After a couple months of getting our paperwork together, we were teaching in a hagwon! It was such an amazing experience, not only because we absolutely loved Korea, but the job allowed us to travel to other places as well. We don’t know what we would have done without AT, and I love that I get to pass on the wisdom I learned, to others who are considering the adventure of a lifetime!

Interests: I love learning about new cultures and hearing people’s stories. The best is when we can share stories over food. My interests have changed a little since my son, Mattias, was born in 2014. But, I hope to pass on to him the richness that I have experienced through travel. Oh, and I cannot survive without a cup of coffee in the morning! I don’t know many moms who can :)

Robyn’s the name, traveling’s the game! I moved abroad in 2006 and have been traveling ever since! The
impact of living, working and experiencing new cultures is infectious, as once you start, it’s hard to stop! Asia holds a special place in my heart as it was the first region I really explored as an expat and I’m so excited that you will also get to experience firsthand this wonderful culture, people and tradition.

Interests: Learning! Languages, countries, people, games, restaurants, books – I want to know it all…and I’m almost there.

Katie Newman

Katie Newman

Admissions Team

Hi, I’m Katie and I am part of the admissions team with Adventure Teaching. I taught English in South Korea for one year in 2009. I used AT to get me a teaching position and was so impressed with the company I  wanted to be part of the team after I got back to the United States. AT’s tag line “you should probably do this” is spot on – it takes courage and a desire for adventure to move across the ocean but it’s an adventure that is so worth it.

Interests: I’m currently living in Colorado and fully take advantage of all the outdoor activities the Rockies have to offer. I like sitting in airports and people watching and reminiscing over a good drink.

Admissions Team

I first moved to Korea in 2009, after a few years of teaching ESL in Southern California. In fact, I would never have considered moving to Korea, but the awesome folks at AT made the process so accessible, and really encouraged me to try something a little out of my comfort zone. And… well, it’s been an amazing chapter of my life for sure! I’ve lived in Korea for over 6 years now, worked two jobs, lived in 3 cities, and met my husband. One of the best things about living abroad is the incredible people that you get to meet, and I feel so blessed to have met so many lifelong friends during this adventure. Now, I love being able to share my experience with others that are considering making the move to Asia.

Interests: Riding my scooter all over Seoul, coaching soccer with my husband, trying to grow vegetables in our garden, and hanging out with our grumpy cat (when she decides to give us attention). On cold winter days you can also find me watching terrible movies while knitting socks.
